There are can be differences in search engines rankings! Because each of them have their own algorithms to rank a website!

yes because everyone has his own algorithms .

Google prefer quality backlinks while yahoo like nofollow tag.

My one site is not listed in top 100 but it ranks in yahoo is good.

Yes it is possible. Many of my sites have ranked high in Google and Bing but low in Yahoo. Each of them has its own algo. However, many websites cannot ranked high in Yahoo since Yahoo does rely too much with on-page factor including keyword density. If you want to rank high in Google, links and trust but not for Yahoo.

Yes, it is possible. But it is unlikely because although they all work slighly differenly, they are all quite similar. The only difference you would get would be in the main ones: google, yahoo, msn/bing, ask, aol. Almost all others are powered by the main ones. Even aol and ask are partially powered by google

I'd say it's not only possible but normal for this to happen. Lately my sites have been jumping around in Yahoo more than in the google results but the results can change in both engines from day to day or week to week.

It is not "possible" it is the reality of search engines. Since each search engine uses its own Algorithm to index websites, based on their own set of specific criteria, a website will rank differently amongst all search engines.

This being said, even with the discrepancies and differences among search engine algorithms they all still have the same purpose and ultimate goal: Indexing websites in logical fashion in which the most relevant (to the provided keywords) websites are provided worst in descending order. Because of this, basic SEO will allow your website to often rank in a very common position among all of the search engines. The differences will usually not be drastic if the SEO and appropriate Web Master Tools are being utilized amongst the engines.

Obviously its true to my belief. Most of my sites are ranking good in google but I dont find them anywhere in yahoo or bing :D
I still continue the trend of unique content and valuable backlinks so that I can get good rankings in most of the search engines. However each search engine has their own algo so its hard to get on top on all of them.

I do agree with most of the posts here. However if you do see that almost all your search engine traffic is coming from Google, it probably means just because everyone uses google and not Yahoo and Bing. But yes, many of my sites dont even show up in search engines like Bing, they do process the information differently I guess.

Yes every search engines have there own algorithms and their own ranking factors so if you are in rank well in Google than it doesn't mean you will higher in bing or yahoo.
