    Hi

I control two sites...one of them is registered in the USA and has traffic all over the world...a lot in Latin America

in Brazil they say it is the largest internet news site but it registers few hits from this country

someone says that it is possible to divert traffic away from the site...any opinions??:)

That's not possible if someone have not been hacked the website to do that.

Yes it is possible to redirect traffic from a website. A lot of people will make you install widget that are supposed to help you get traffic but in reality some of this widget will close your page automatically and redirect the traffic to another page.

I've seen it done many times. The only difference is that the traffic will show on your website and on the website of the person that stole your traffic.

The widget is not hard to make either and can pass many pop up blockers.

There's a 404 redirect hack I know of which redirects all your 404 pages to another site, so that you don't easily notice that your traffic is being stolen, after all they are only stealing your not found pages.

Inspect for the codes of your site, as well as see to it that you are the only one who have access on your hosting account. Installing some traffic statistics codes to see where your traffic coming from and where they gone through...
