Is it okay to use DP colors?

I just love dp green colors. While I know there is no copyright on colors, its not ethical to use it w/o asking hence the question

Is it okay if I use DP color scheme for one of my forums?

 

If DP was my forum, I'd have no problem letting you use it, but if I was wanting to make a forum, I'd never use another web site's color scheme

 

I think this really depends, is your forum a webmastering forum or something around that area? If so I think it would be ilmoral to do so, however in other cases I can't see a problem, just don't use any copyrighted images.

 

My forum is on completely diff domain (automobile) and If its okay to use then I may be using ONLY the color schem again with some variation but honestly it will be clear inspiration from DP

Again, I am not interested in doing any unethical thing, I am refering ONLY to colors and that also if it is okay

 

Well just to let you know, DP is not known for it's stunning business bringing designs.

If you really want to go big with this forum I would consider hiring a designer.

As for the morality of copying colors, who cares?

 

The DP blue theme is pretty much the standard VB blue theme. I don't think you will have a problem.

 

He's talking about the green version. Not the default vBulletin version that a lot of boards use.

 

Mad4, I'm pretty sure he means the green one - *edit* Meh Ninny beat me to it.

 

ECF3EB EAF4E9 are two of the light green colours used here (RGB as Hex).
Although to me I think a car forum should be red or blue.

 

I believe that as far as you don't try to mislead people with the same look and feel of DP in a way they believe your site is this, colors are okey

You'd be better off with a custom skin

 

I do believe using the same colors in your automobile forum is ok.
Just make sure do not bring along that DP logo

 

No problems with the colours, I think, although I wonder why the heck would you want to copy DP's colours for?
