Well I saw some websites with a lot of text(basically keywords) at the footer...I am assuming that it is relating to SEO...Does this really help or is it bad for some search engines?
That's an outdated technique that not only looks bad but is also not very effective with Google (it can still work with Yahoo and MSN)
If the sites on the footer are interlinked and all of those sites content subject are the same, it would give you a balid backlink. And surely it will help you to raise the PR. But of course the subject of both site contents, should be quite similar on the basis of google crawler inteligent. Regards
It depends if the text you saw are breadcrumb links to other pages which is can help with internal pages getting ranked, or if it was just text - keyword stuffing which could cause the big G to ban your site
Check this site www.bsm.co.uk At the bottom of the page, thats a perefectly good SEO technique, called breadcrumb links as the search engine spider follow them around the site Was it like those ?
I thought he was talking about the sites that put about 50 variations of the same word (ex. loans) into the footer and don't link them to anything
Same im not too sure which technique is being refered to, so I though an exampe might clear things up
