    Right around the ad... nope

on the page somewhere, why not.

Implying that they click is pretty much what you are getting at if you put "support us" and right there is ads.

I didn't get your last line. Can u please explain it ?

I would like to put my support banner in the top right position of the sidebar. Is this ok unless its not above adsense 300x250 ad banner?

    No.

Not on any part of the site, if it even hints or could be interpreted that the way they should support you is through clicking on ads.
Advertisers don't pay out to subsidise you, that's not what adsense is for, and it is specifically forbidden in the ToS.
If you want people to donate, put a paypal donation button up.

Support your site by what ? clicking ads is a violation.
If you are asking for donation then its fine.

Thanks magda for providing the link which cleared off all my doubts.

I have thought what i am gonna do with my site. If the traffic goes up i'll put it in maintainence mode for couple of days and put it back to online. This way i can conserve my bandwidth+CPU usage and keep running my site from free hosting.
My site has been getting traffic from popular forums since last couple of months and the traffic is pretty much flowing constantly. Don't understand why visitors are so click aware on my site. Anyway thanks everyone for replying .

No you cannot and asking your visitors to "support your sponsors" is ultimately asking people who visit your site to click on ads. You will get banned. People spend money and they want organic clicks when it sparks an interest in a visitor not doing it because you want to support the site owner :)

Just dont do it. work on long term seo traffic so you get natural clicks and not chase a click here and there.

You can simply put a simple donation button or try to increase web traffic to your site.

It's one of those situations. Ask yourself this. Is it worth getting banned from one of the only ad programs that you can easily make money at? One thing to remember overall is, just because you aren't banned in your first month or two doing something inadvertently against the TOS, it can happen later on. I think others have covered this, but I just wanted to advise you or other newbs regardless.

The problem with this mentality (along with the point that you'll get kicked out if you do that) that you don't understand is that Adsense pays a higher dollar amount for clicks that convert. If your percentage of users who do click actually begin converting for the people whose advertisements are being shown, you'll make more money since Google will start showing higher paying ads. You really don't want your users clicking on your ads if they're not going to buy anything - that's actually going to cost you money because you'll never get consistantly high paying clicks if they do that.

Needless to say, do you want to make pennies from dozens of clicks, or dollars from a few (depending on your niche)? Optimize your site to become a useful and informative place for your users and you'll make more money - I promise you that will be the case. You may even start getting advertisers to start paying for your spots and suddenly you'll start making money regardless of clicks from CPM campaigns. But advertisers don't buy advertising on crappy sites - so always try to continue to make it better - it will work out much better for you in the long run.

I don't see anything wrong with asking users to support you, but don't invite users to click
on google ads if they're not going to end up purchasing what google is trying to sell.

You should not write anything like that above or below the ad unit

    Good luck

Do not encourage visitors to click on your adsense. That's against TOS.

But this depends on where it is. You can tell if someone is hinting directly or indirectly for people to click ads.

    For instance

you have your 3 google ads but then in the side section have a support our site and have a list of banners that have ZERO to do with adsense or any ppc links.

You can tell by placement what peoples intent are in it. I wouldn't have support our site ANYWHERE NEAR google ads ever just in case.

If a person has the intent or hope that by putting those words on the site that they get clicks then of course they will end up getting banned simply because the intent will look more and more against the tos.

Indirectly encouraging people to click ads is far different than having a support us section on a page UNLESS there is google ads right around that area and NOTHING else for people to support like a donate button, links to other sister sites or even advertising rates links.

Or anywhere around it, if it looks like that is the intent of the placement it will not last long. You would need the support us and then something whether it be a link or button for people to be able to do so like ad link, banner, sister sites as I stated in my above post.

If adsense is the only thing around that "support us" you will end up banned especially with the million micro mods running around.
