PayPal blocked my account sometime back, i sent them the documents and got it unblocked again. Now I am going to get a payment of 7K$ from an affiliate company..

Is there any limit to the amount that I receive through paypal?

Is it ok to receive $7k ?

Contact Paypal and pre-warn them about the big transfer. Is it the same affiliate which got you blocked the other time ?

Then you better contact Paypal and ask them about it. Incidentally, will this payment be to your personal or business/premier account ?

Yikes.. you will be paying a lot of paypal fees with that premier account of yours. Also, why not request that the payment be sent into 3 intervals instead of one huge chunk? Lower the risk of your site being flagged..

Or get them to wire transfer the money into your bank account.

Just thinking, wouldn't it be cheaper and more secure to receive funds via a wired transfer? If you do the math around Paypal commission on that transaction, it may sound like an important amount to pay. Check with your bank and ask the affiliate company if an eventual bank transfer would work.

And yes, if you still decide to go through Paypal, arrange smaller chunk. It also may help contacting Paypal prior to receiving the funds.

Edit: heh, Eddy has read my mind.

Write to Paypal and ask them about it. They should know their own system better and make be able to accomodate your needs.

I'd be reluctant to go through with a large transaction with paypal due to the risk of a frozen account.
I prefer using Escrow and directly sending the payment to my bank account.

Well, If you're getting that into Premier account, thats not going to be a huge problem. But Bank Transfer and/or Asking PayPal(and posting here to let us know as well) is a good idea

There shouldn't be any problem, but wire transfer is always the safest way to receive such a large amount of money.

always use wire transfer for such large payment.
    don't rely on paypal
why are you waiting so much money on commisions and also there is always a risk of paypal limiting your account.
use money2india or icicibank send money feature
there is only $25 fee for wire transfer. you will need your indian bank account number and swift code which you can get from your bank.

I deal with plenty of affiliate marketing and most of them once i reach over $5000 they are ready to do wire transfer to my account ( Bank account in India of course).

So to be on the SAFEST SIDE ask them to do wire transfer into your account. :)
