Is it ok to promote CJ links directly? Does PID really matter?

In CJ I get links like

    http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx

Is it ok to promote such links directly? I mean Is it necessary to place it in some website and then allow to click through.?

I gave this link to a friend of mine and asked him to make a lead and got credit for it.

Is it against CJ's TOS? I hope its not !

I have trouble like you. I do things similar to you, but at last I got lots of "Invalid links generating traffic", so I set up a website for me now

If you are a publisher doing search marketing, to obtain Keyword links and take advantage of the improvements made to the Keyword Link area in the CJ Account Manager (Get Links >> View Links >> Keyword Link), you will need to designate your promotional method as doing search engine marketing (SEM).
If you participate in more than one promotional method, you can update your account settings to reflect this.
For your existing search campaigns, your links will continue to work; transitioning to JavaScript links is optional
If you would like to embed links into e-mails, you can convert any link into an E-mail link in the "Get HTML" page of your selected link. ---from CJ

I believe that a merchant may not accept this, so you could get invalid clicks even though you designated SEM in your account options.

Where do you see Keyword Link?
My account is set to use SEM, and I don't see that term in links.

i always hide them with a redirect script then i also use a tinyurl like script, just so the advertiser is really in the dark, on where the traffic is comin from, not because i am doin things i don't think they would like, but just less trouble this way, i don't have to worrie about it. my 2 cents.

You say you hide the source of the traffic....so I'm assuming you mean you hiding the http referer information? How exactly are you doing that?

I've been playing with Live HTTP Headers all day and haven't been able to figure out how to do that yet.

I think he already told everything, use link redirection service or create one yourself. With tinyurl for example all requests will look like they are coming from tinyurl - if you write a small program that does the same thing on your server, all hits will have your server as referer.
