but whats the logic behind it ? people go for smallest domain name as much possible as they can , so if you are registering noyahoo.com the name looks quite big so would notwitter.com instead nono.com (if its available) or something else will be more desirable , everything cant be as good as the milliondollarpage.com

I don't think one can have similar names. Recently, I've seen Google to file a suit against some person in the same issue.

not trying to fool anyone...just thought having say newstwitter.com or something to that effect may get more traffic because of the keywords involved. The site would obviously have to have news about twitter in it.

I dont think theirs gonna be any copyright or any such issue as long as the site is legit and not against the company..

it depends on the what your site is doing really, if you create a site that is anti twitter or anti yahoo and you use their names in the domain name then you are likely to find urself with a copyright infrindgement suit, but if you make a fan site then obviously i dont think they will bother with you, or even better they may support you!

One thing you could do is find a name that sounds like Twitter but is not exactly the same.

You can have what ever you want as long as you do not claim to be the or make it seem like you are.

You can use the word Twitter in your domain because it isn't copyrighted (I believe). But you wouldn't be allowed to use Yahoo in your domain unless you are okay with Yahoo's legal staff coming after you.
