Is it ok to have competitor’s links on your website link exchange plan? I have noticed that many businesses are doing so. Some says it will cause to lose visitors. But can you explain how the lose of visitors happens.

Your competitor means this site is OnFocus. This is a plus point. The Hope Page PR of the is higher than your site & don't have 'nofollow" attribute - you can proceed.

It's not a good practice. You not only create exit links for people, but also you link to better established competitors than you.

it is good in terms of seo. Your best bet is to find link exchanges with sites who have related but non-competing content.

It works both ways, positive and negative. It depends upon your strategy as to in which sites you put your links. If your competitor has put his link in an irrelevant site, it is not necessary for you to put your link there also. You can avoid that. But in case, you find a good site, you must put that. Suggestion and Criticism, on my opinion, is welcome.
