I have a review website. I have a prize of a tablet that I want to give away to a random user who submits a review. I wanted to promote this through an ad on Facebook which would ask users to visit my website and submit a review to be in with a chance of winning a tablet. Is that ok to do? Also is it ok that the ad I would have on Facebook would contain an image containing text which explains the competition and shows the prize?
Hm, in my opinion i won't do that. People will submit review if they need it (either they are satisfied or really dissapointed about the products/services). I'm afraid that you might get lots of fake review because they just want to enter the competition.
Yes, I understand your concerns about the quality of reviews. It's a new site and I want to build some content. But I will only publish genuine and constructive reviews. The terms will state that only published reviews will be valid for the competition. But my question more so relates to Facebook. Would I be breaking any rules by publishing and advertising this competition on facebook?
No, you're not breaking any rules by just run a competition in FB. Unless something go wrong and you get some report from them . Hope this help!.
"Unless something go wrong and you get some report from them" Would you have examples of things that could go wrong that I could get a report for? If you mean like a fake competition with no prize then that wont be the case for me. The competition is genuine and I already have the prize I'll be giving away
There is no legal reason for not doing it, plenty of people gives away prices through ads campaign, but I share the point of view of those who are saying it doenst have any sense to get fake reviews.
