I want to know that is it OK to publish copyrighted content like wallpapers and other materials on a blogspot blog. They are not host within the blogger. Thanks.
Whether they are hosted on blogger, or that it's a blogspot blog is completely irrelevant. No, you do not have the right to copy other people's material without permission.
There is True Irrelevant of your blog host YOu have no permission to post Copyrighted content and images
You are not allowed to copy someone's content. The fact that you are a blogger is make it even more bad to copy content. A blog should be your personal experience and stuff like that.
Being on Blogger makes it no better or worse. Your comment that a blog should be your personal experience and stuff is nonsense. The irony of your post was not lost on me either when looking at the lame money making blog in your signature.
Thanks for your ideas. However Almost all bloggers do copying and modifications. I have found similar content on different web sites.
Just because everyone does something doesn't mean it's right or that you have any complaint if you are punished.
Actually what I wanted to know is, is it OK to publish free wallpapers obtained from other web sites. I have seen the same wallpapers on most wallpaper sites, which also have google ads on their sites.
If by "obtained" you mean that you have explicit permission from the copyright holders of the wallpaper images to put them on your site, then yes, it's fine. But if you are talking about scraping wallpapers from other sites and posting them on your blog, the answer is what everyone has been telling you: it's copyright infringement and it's not allowed.
To OP: Do not worry about those stuff, on the internet almost everything can be called "copyright" even if you were to post files to illegal downloads I doubt you will get punished since there are way more bigger sites out there that arent even getting caught... And about this whole wallpaper copyright BS. yeah you can rip them of from other imageboards (they arent the ones who created the wallpapers either, everyone takes from the other) dont you think its stupid to ask from every wallpaper author to get premission to post it on your own site? in matter of fact the authors should be happy that you are sharing it with others, and people actually know that it exist...
Seriously, nothing will happen even you have copyrighted content in your blog, I'm running many niche blogs, most of the content randomly taken from other blogs and article directories...never been any problem, even some of copyrighted content on my blogs ranked better than the original content in google... The worst possible thing happen maybe the original content owner asked you to remove your post...and it's simple...just delete the post...you won't get any problem at all...
People lost copyright on images on internet a very long time ago. All wallpapers you see are stolen from some other site and mixed together at another. There are still people who try to have some kind of controll over their pictures but they fail big. The only problem would be if you started something serious like a business and if you used something copyrighted for that purpose, it could go bad. But for personal purposes I don't think anyone cares. Also usually you get a warning at first before anything happens.
I know that there are many discussions about posting wallpapers on blogs taken from other sources. But as long as we not use them for business purposes, then allowed and adsense safe. ? I can show you thousand of blogs that posting the same wallpaper and running adsense ads.
Running advertising on your site makes your posting of the wallpapers "for business purposes." And just because other sites are doing it doesn't mean it isn't illegal or against the Adsense ToS.
"MEOW"! Bottom line is, No! You are only allowed to post other people's content, designs, and such if they have given you permission, publish under Creative Commons (Read the rules first), Syndicate it (RSS, XML Feeds), or upload it to a reputable sharing site like You Tube where it is a part of the TOS. File sharing, and rapid share type sites do not count as "Consent" to share or republish, because most times there is no consent from the owner. Files hosted outside of Copyright laws does not count either, especially if YOU are a citizen, or your business address is in a country that adheres to copyright laws, or you do business with( or your traffic comes from) said countries and territories..which on the web means it would be available to everyone anyway. Yep, just means that they are getting away with it., for now. Just like grade school, if you do everything that you see everyone else doing, even though you know it to be wrong, under the excuse that "Well... they did it"...your punishment is liable to be worse for using such a juvenile and stupid defense. Judges everywhere are forced to ask the same question every single day: "If they jumped off of a bridge, would you jump too ?"
1.by file sharing, eg: photobucket pics, allows you to put pics in ur site by using different tags or direct links, thats kind of non copyright pics right? any sites which offer free sharing pics 2.can i use photoshop or simple paint to modify pics and use it (its different from the original !)
Just because a picture is on a site like photobucket doesn't mean the copyright holder has given permission for it to be used. Photobucket can get away with it because of the DMCA safe harbor provisions, which you don't meet. No, that would be considered a derivative work, and you still need an explicit license from the copyright holder to do that. If you want to stay within the law, either obtain licenses for the images you are using (and sharing) or make the images yourself, either by taking photos or by creating them from scratch.
as a photographer i'm disgusted to read shit like this. it seems that nowadays anyone even the biggest blogs steal pictures and photos from the web without having the slightest clue about copyright. 99% of the blogs STEAL commercial photos, and don't think they spend much time on it, all they do is usually search on google images. no wonder the internet is a dump.
