I have a generalist blog with 1000+ posts, a couple thousand daily visitors, about 15% organic traffic. Suffice to say, it's a moderately busy place, not some kind of MFA site with a measly half dozen articles. I've been meaning to do some media buys to some of my top posts, such as buying banner space on other websites and buying PPC traffic from second tier networks such as 7search. Main goals: further improve my traffic, maybe get some extra links secondary goals: recoup some of the money spent via increased adsense clicks Do you think this plan would get me in trouble with Google? I know they don't take kindly on arbitrage, but since this is an established website and since my focus would be promoting the website itself, I assume this might be a legitimate plan. Is it?
It is fine to buy space or inner text link from other site, as long as you are not paying people to click on the link
Google frowns upon paid traffic. If more people from paid traffic clicks on the AdSense ads versus natural organic traffic from the search engine, then Google might investigate on this and perhaps ban you.
Hm.... you make a good point, blogaboutnothin. But even so, I should be safe by keeping my paid traffic levels below my organic traffic levels. Right?
