is it not right if a domain name includes such words as products, reviews etc?

these words always let customers think me as a salesman directly and then refuse me as a result.

what type of domain name could you get as LP website?

I think "reviews" can actually be very good in a url, because it's quite often part of potential buyers' search-terms when that's exactly what they're looking for. It'll be the content and style of your site that makes most people think you're selling, not having "reviews" in the url.

Just a caution ... all my affiliate websites with reviews or opinions were slapped as a part of the recent google review site slaps.

I had a review site that was ranking really well organically in Google for the term I was targeting and it definitely got hit. I don't know what happened, but the dip for me started August 23rd then spiked back up August 31-Sept 2nd. Since then, all my traffic has been from other engines and incoming links. Hopefully, it'll spring back.

    The domain name is theXXXXXXreview.com

I'm kind of curious if others are affected. I was thinking this might not even be a big deal at all and that I'll start ranking again soon.

yes I have had this happen as well on a few of the review sites I have running, getting good consistent traffic for a bout 1.5 years, then last few months is has dropped. Google do seem to be getting more picky with this.

it could be have many other reasons - e.g. if it was an offer being promoted by email blasts, the email blasts may have stopped, other people may have stopped promoting etc ...

the thing with review sites is you are dependent on other marketers first telling them about the product ... if no-one is telling them about the product, then your review site won't get any traffic

Yeah I have a review domain.
for most of the keywords which were review related it is still ranking high

For keywords products related there have been fluctuations.

though I thought that Google slap was limited to PPC only, quite strange they are affecting review sites.

You may try this strategy if the vendor not care.
