Is it normal?

Last month in December i had only 130 backlinks in Google and count of this links didn't grow further for a long time.
Within January I got very fast 1000 backlinks and i didn't do backlinking in January at all.

Is it good or not? I mean is it possible that my web page would be banned due to fast backlinking.

And one more question. Why my webpage didn't get higher ranking in Google? I'm on the same place right now.

Are some of these links sitewide??? If they are in Dec Google probably only found a few pages then in Jan found the rest.

depends how relevant and what quality the links are!

And no its not possible you will get banned for building links too fast, this is a myth!

Links don't mean anything unless they deliver traffic. You can have thousands of links and still not rank. Google values authority and content. Most back link strategies rely upon the same type of sites - comments, user profiles, etc. Google can easily determine the "type" of links you have to your site and rank you accordingly.

There is no "normal" in search. One site may have a press release or a big story hit and get 100,000 links in a day. Another may have 5 new links and rank on the same page.

So don't focus on the numbers focus on the traffic you get by looking at your own log files and statistics.

Google does not show you the number of links pointing back to your site. They show you "some" of those links.

Sites get scraped every day. search for your site like this yoursite.com in Google and see who is scraping you.

And remember that Google doesn't crawl all sites equally or as equally deep. So some of those links you place to day may not show up for weeks or at all.

    Good luck.
