Is it Normal for Article Positions to shift?

Hi i have a few articles indexed in google from ezinearticles. But they frequently shift positions from
top of the first page to the middle or toward the bottom and sometimes even to the second page.

Also it sometimes disappears off google's index completely for a day. And sometimes just go all the
way back but is still in the index.

I just wanted to know if this was normal and if there is anyway to stabilize the position near the top
or middle of the first page on google?

    Thanks

Of course, it's perfectly normal, and will happen.

However, if the changes is happening in only a matter of 1 or 2 days than it's just a temporary changes until it "settle". That's what we call "google dance". Although it's strange, it's "normal".

Shifting of positions in SERPs is part of the changes/updates made by the search engines because there's a lot of sites exists in their database (old and new) that they check frequently...
