Is it necessary to separately submit/ ping new Wordpress blog to RSS/ search engines?

    For new Wordpress blogsm, why do people submit sitemaps or submit to RSS/ search engines when Wordpress blogs already have many plugins that automatically pings and submits to sites? :)

    With almost every blog having PR >5, I have seen 'em using third party RSS subscription services such as feedburner. The obvious reason can be link building and RSS subscription services' popularity.

    nothing is necessary, it's just helps get the blog indexed faster and gain authority in googles eyes

    Hi,

    One approach is to build a composite RSS file (feed) that includes many blog postings all in one, then submit that to the RSS sites. So you have created more links to your site with the existing posts.

    I agree with @im108. Build the RSS feeds and submit to RSS sites. It's a good way to create links and also drive in traffics.
