Is it me or is it Yahoo?

For a good number of weeks now I have been having major problems with my Yahoo mail which is constantly cutting the connection. I have no problems accessing other sites despite my slow connection speeds right now, but Yahoo Mail seems to be suffering from something.

I have a number of sites hosting with yahoo and I use Yahoo mail to communicate with everyone, so it really is giving me a major headache.

Is it me or is it Yahoo?

Are you using the new updated version of mail or the old original layout, Ive been using yahoo mail and found once they changed the layout about 12 months ago, the older version started to crash more, hopefully that may help!

Yes, I am indeed using the old version but taht's because I'm on Mac using Camino for which there is no compatibility, as say Yahoo.
How silly of them to, in times of trouble, not to adapt to the Mac market. They could do with all the help at this time, couldn't they?

Why should i be forced to change browsers to use them? Especially since I pay for hosting too...

My only problem is that I have so many windows open between browser and word, excecl, dreamweaver, etc that I really want to keep it all to a minimum. I do see what you mean, but I was hoping Yahoo wouldnt force me to do so much work to read my emails.

I think the microsoft takeover is probably good for us all in many ways and not the more obvious ones. For one thing, Google finally earns proper competition and I am thus hoping that prices for advertising in AdWords for example start becoming more competitive.

Of course they will both be wanting to take over the market-share, so the goodies that await us in terms of new developments from both goog and microsoft is enticing.

Meantime, we're stuck with crappy old yahoo and the over-priced AdWords....

Ps - I did just convert to the new version of yahoo mail in Camino browser and its only just slightly better.

I am a fan of Google but it does need some competition, the adwords situation is crazy, I work free lance with a large blue chip company and they are paying nearly £18 per click which is crazy.

I can see google going down the ask route and completely changing the look of there homepage and search results, and I think the merge of microsoft and yahoo will be good, but personally i believe they will set up a new search engine to run along side yahoo, msn and live - maybe called "my live" m=microsoft y=yahoo

Now you've converted to the new yahoo, hopefully you will notice a difference, its just a shame it looks similar to Microsoft crappy outlook ;-)

yes, changes to goog's search engine are quite likely. maybe not as much as we'd like because basic is staple for the google people.
a side-by-side SE? I don't know. Why invest in 2 if you can buidl THE ONE that will challenge google and bring over a good share of the market. I think their aim should be 'grab them and keep them', as opposed to seeing Google stay the primary search engine for websurfers.

I would think that too because I have indeed been plagued with slow speeds but no other sites are giving me so many problems than yahoo. and yesterday I started using the new version on camino and its still almost as slow...just only that much faster. but not as fast as you should expect to work properly!

Go microsoft, go...put yahoo in its place!!
