    Hey..

Is it legal to use "youtube" in a subdomain name .. youtubexxxxx.blogpost.com

xxxx doesnt mean adult. Just some word after youtube ?

Is there any subdomain, or domain name with "youtube" ?

    Thanks

It could still be trademark infringement regardless of whether or not anyone else is using it if your content relates to videos. If you are building a blog about tire tubes, then it might be another story.

Yes. Ebay even won their infringement case against PerfumeBay for infringement. Some gaming companies are known to allow usage, but that doesn't mean they couldn't do something if they wanted.

What could they do? Sue you for infringement, take all the revenue the site has ever generated, plus hefty damages, collect treble their legal fees - and also force the domain to be turned over to them.

Basically if they can prove you are attracting attention using their name they can come after you, it all depends on if they want to or if they can get something out of it. Obviously if they sue you and you have no money isn't really worth it unless they wanna prove a point.

Most of the links in the Google search are probably not infringing. Using the trademark in the main URL or as the subdomain is infringing (www.myyoutube.com or youtube.myvideos.com) but I have not seen any case (lawsuit or UDRP) where having as part of the non-dns part of the domain showing diretory structure has been ruled as infringement (www.myvideos.com/youtube). Of course, that might change.
