Is it legal to use trademarked logos on websites?

    Hi,

    I was wondering if anyone knows if its legal to use another company's logo on your website?

    For example if I create a myspace product and I said 'compatible with myspace' and then had the myspace logo with 'tm' or the r in a circle beside it, is this legal?

    Yes that's fine, but you will have to leave a disclaimer in the footer that states all logos and images are registered trademarks of the said company.

    Also you don't mock or spoof their logo.

    google says that you will have to get there permission before you use there logo! perhaps in this case you should write it to myspace and get there permission if possible! the coustomer support may reply, try sending them an email:rolleyes:

    as long as you put the disclaimer and donot tarnish their image you are on safe ground!

    This is illegal, and this logo will not be recognized by any search engines because of its duplication, also the website will not be listed in the top results, Even if it is ranked also the website from which it is copied will be displayed in first. Also this is some what promoting there website too, there will be more benefits for the website which we have copied from.
