Technically, the recording of the performance and the performance itself are the property of the performer who performed the song. Linking to a site that you know is infringing that right is contributory and/or vicarious copyright infringement. I explain in more depth in my most recent blog post. So, can you be held liable. The short answer is yes.

Let me know if you have other questions.

    Sercan,

It's not really complicated. Using youtube videos on your website that are infringing content (which they are if they recorded a performance that they did not have the right to do (i.e., without permission from the artist)) makes you an infringer too. Even if you only linked to them (as opposed to hosting them on your site), you could be liable for vicarious infringement. Make sense?

Let me know if you have other questions.

many of the record companies are releasing authorized youtube clips that you can embed or link to without worry.
