    Hi All,

I saw some ebooks in Ebay, and it is legal to sell ebooks? since you can make any number of copies you need.

    Thanks!

Yes it legal to sell eBooks provided that you are the creator/writer and copyright holder of the eBook.

You cannot download an eBook from another site/eBay and then sell it to other people. That would be copyright infringement and would be illegal. The copyright holder will also most likely take legal action against you in a situation like that.

Since you as asking if it's legal, my guess is you're thinking of buying other people's ebooks and reselling them.

As Crusader mentioned, you must own the rights to do so.

Thanks for the info. I think the guy in Ebay didn't have the sell rights.

Kinda difficult to track those things, though. That gives a ground for future scams.

Perhaps ebay should do something about this. They could ask for source files for PDFs for a start. I am sure programmers would be able to come up with some ideas, in my opinion ebay and similar sites need to ensure they are doing what they can.

That's why they have their VERO program.

But it's still a hassle to police all the listings if you're looking for people selling your e-book.
