For those who are familiar with iPhone jailbreaking and/or understand the concept, just wondering, is it legal to sell a guide on how to jailbreak an iPhone? The domain and the guide itself will not contain the word "iPhone" in the title.
In Intellectual Property law there is a concept known as contributory infringement. Web sites that offer instructions on how to download copyrighted materials, even if they do not offer the material themselves, have been found to be contributory infringers on the copyright. I think you would have the same problem with a jailbreak site. You would be a contributory infringer with the person who followed your instructions. _____________________________ Andrew M. a simple google search would show you a million guides on how to jailbreak a iphone, in the beginning apple was a little pissed and had some content removed but now they hardly care since it is just modding or reverse technology on a phone you already own , and there is nothing illegal about it. if i want to use 3rd party apps on a thing i own i have every right to , it's up to you , legality of it could be question since no one went to court over it , but why would you want to do it, it's all over the Internet now.
