Hello! Is it legal to rewrite content from other websites maintaining the meaning, but using different words?

    No,
    But it is spam!
We all know Google updates their search engine algorithms often. So, you won't get traffic from search engines. Create unique title. Create unique content. So Google really loves your content & chance of getting good position in Google

That depends on the laws of your country and that of the author, and how you use the original article. (Simply as inspiration? Or just rearranging sentences and substituting words?)

But why would you want to?

Couldn't you do a better job writing about something that you know about? (At least enough to allow you to research the subject among multiple sources and write your own article.)

Depending on how close the rewrite is, it could cross the line of copyright infringement. That said, if you are looking for content you don't have to worry about rewriting, look for sites that offer their content under creative commons, PLR content, etc.

I know this is how article spinning works (where a piece of software takes an article and changes some words around so you get a new article). Depending on where you live, it's most likely not illegal. However, as kikolani mentioned, you may have to worry about copyright infringement. Don't forget about Google's duplicate content penalty. I would suggest maybe looking at content from other sites for inspiration - something to help you come up with your own unique content - but not to rewrite or spin. If you want content that you can take and rewrite into your own words, I would look into PLR content.

This is called a 'derivative work' and all rights to derivative works remain with the author of the original work. In other words, the author of the article that you copy owns your modified copy, too.

it is not illegal provided that you acknowledge the original writer of the content. and also you should check the authors desires. some will quote that you should rewrite only a certain amount of words or you should seek their approval.

You can take notes from a specific website in order to combine a larger article - however you should note them as a source using a no follow link to the article in which you gained information from.
