I understand Google routinely checks up on adsense publishers. I can't say if this is legal, but if it's not they will probably get slapped by Google eventually.

This is legal but the site will look like a Made for Adsense site which Google is not happy about. This is trying to force the visitors to leave by clicking on the adsense.

Google itself admitted that they are not able to check each and every site for their TOS compliance, so they will keep on showing ads pay for those illegal sites until they catch them. They take immediate action against any site or publisher if there is a complaint from Adwords advertisers, for one or two complaints, you get a warning from Google and if many adwords advertisers complaint about your site, then you will be banned. In case you have other good sites, this particular site will be banned for showing Adsense ads.

To keep your adsense accounts safe, you must have many sites with good content and good traffic. You can do research and development on some new sites, this way, if your new sites violate TOS rules, your adsense account is safe.

First of all, what they did is NOT illegal or against the TOS. It looks horrible, but they are within their rights to do it. Show me where in the Adsense terms where it says you cannot place 3 ad boxes vertically like that.

Second, that is a really horrible site lol.

Where does legality come into picture? Do you think Google is going to sue the blog owner in the rare case this was against their TOS?

This blog going to get tracked, at the time of payment. Its definitely a MFA blog ( i say a page). Even the author doesn't bother to place the ads correctly....

Why would you use the same method? Do you think this "trick" will make you money? If so, then go ahead. You will find out very quickly that garbage sites like this are a waste of your time, the visitors time, and Google's time. It is a 'lose-lose' proposition for everyone. That much, I guarantee.

It's legal, but it doesn't work that well. It just ruins the layout, and people will leave immediately after seeing that it is an AdSense-only site.

i think there is no problem with the ad placement. Placing 3 ad boxes on a single page is perfectly fine. now, do the ads look like part of the content in this case? To me the ads look like ads due to improper blending. So even if there is no phrase "Sponsors", or "Sponsored Ads", they appear ads to me.

But I see a problem with the fact that this blog only has one post. I think this is where trouble would come in pretty soon, unless the blog owner updates his blog and puts on a lot of good quality article. just my two cents.
