I'm not sure about wordpress. I only know that you cannot sell blogspot.com blogs. It is against the TOS of Google.

Then probably wp also will have such line in their TOS.

What about selling links from such wp / blogger hosted blogs ? Is it ok to do?

It is a bit risky to sell links. However, that will depend on how you sell the links. If you allow other webmasters to upload content with a few anchor links, that is all right. However, be careful of selling links from home page.
I know some bloggers selling advertising space, and allow dofollow links. Later on, Google sandbox the blog.

You can't sell the blog unless they are self hosted. Selling links is good and I don't find any problem in it.

Yes, I agree, if you host your own blog, and selling links, I think it's legal

The only way to accomplish this is to set up a Self-Hosted WP blog, develop it, then sell it. Totally legal.

Legal? Technically no. You can't sell something that you don't own. Can you sell someone access and give up your password and username ? Sure if someone is willing to buy it you can sell anything.

What you are asking is most definitely against the T.O.S. of both platforms and if caught could get the account suspended, but there is the rub...will you get caught?

As far as selling links? Also against the T.O.S. most platforms have strict rules against using them as an SEO tool and selling links would fall into that category, but again, will you get caught?

Most people around here don't care if it's right or wrong, legal or illegal.... they just want to know if they can get away with it.

You can sell almost anything that someone is willing to buy and if both parties know the terms then it is technically not fraud. You are not actually selling the blog (You can't, you have no rights to it) , you are turning over access to someone else for their use.

You would probably only get caught if the transaction goes bad and the buyer complains to the company, then you are both screwed.
The best way to answer is, neither party has any rights in this transaction since technically it is against T.O.S., so as long as it remains between the 2 of you, you lower you chances of getting your account suspended.

So... no, you are not supposed to do it, so you can't bitch to anyone if it goes bad.
