It's not against their Terms of Service and it's not against the law.

E-gold doesn't exchange any payments to e-gold so you need to do the exchange with people who has e-gold. If there is no exchanger, no one can use e-gold so it is not illegal.

The only thing is that you need to do your due diligence with who you want to exchange it with because once an e-gold transfer is made, it cannot be reversed. You just need to be sure that the people you deal with do not fraud you by doing a chargeback at paypal. :)

Do exchange with people you know or reputable approved exchanger.

what i did is to pay with paypal, but i never got the egold, so i just want to know if i wont have problems if i start a dispute on this transaction. And also i want to know what kind of dispute it is, an item dispute? The scammer has more to lose since the name he used for his paypal is fraudulent, i made some research about him.

Well, I am not sure about this but like I read earlier, e-gold is the platform of choice for scammers. However, since this is a Paypal transaction, you might be able to submit a Paypal Dispute for this transaction, add as much evidence as possible and let Paypal handle it.

I would assume the exchange from Paypal to E-gold is a service so it should be legal of sorts.
