    This is definitely not what google wants you to do, so I think it's unlikely that either site benefits much in terms of google-rating.

    I don't think Google will penalize this type of linking.. It simply crawls the href target thats all :)

    Google finds out there tricks and penalizes. You may get away with it for a while, but your time would be better served getting real links.

    well, thanks for all your advices, i'm asking all that for one reason,i want to improve one system that i have, it a service for webmasters, so the quality of the link is good for the clients of this system not for me.
    my system is a banners click system, it count click on banners. for now my link is ...redirect.asp?id=1 , and i'm sure that u all know that it's a dead link. so i thought to relive the link by doing this click where i put in the href the real domain, but actualy it pass through my system so i can count the click.
    beside i dont want my clients to get punished because of me.
    i'm running a test for the last week about that, i'll update about the results.
    but do anyone have any idea how can i do to create a good link without loosing the statistics ?
    by the way, you can see my system here : brinji.com

    There is another redirection way... from alex

    <a onMouseOver="window.status='http: //---.com'; return true;" href="http: //redirect .alexa .com/redirect?http //.....&q=---.com">

    maybe it is fine if you do not use it for exchanging links

    u show something is href and when user clicks on it u should be taking them to a totally different domain. I don't think u should trick ur visitors either
