one of my sites completely disappeared from SERPS!, and google is returning the "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer " when I try to use google search although I haven't used any SEO tool recently. Is there any google dance or update happening?

Is google now making small dances for individual sites rather than the infamous google dances?

If you are getting a message from Google like ""Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer ", it means that you tried to search for a phrase and crawled all the search results. Then you did the same for another keyword. If you kept doing this for a while, Google bans that particular IP thinking that it's a robot. You can prove that you are a human and get your IP white-listed by submitting your information by clicking a link which is displayed with the error message.

it's been over 24 hours now, and for most keywords that I was ranking for in the first 3 pages of google now are beyond page 10!

Seems like I'm in the exact same situation as you are: SERPs gone completely beyond the first 8-9 pages and it's over 24hrs now (the timing just like you)

Guess we have to wait and see

Google is always "dancing" or updating if you will. People just notice it on one site and rush to start a thread about it.

i'm not sure if my case is the same, but my site indexed pages on google down to 12 from around 800+ when using SeoQuake since yesterday (it's a month old site tho), i wonder if this is goin to be permanent?

Well a sure sign. I am noticing Dmoz results showing up in the top 5 for my niche. Sure sign they are playing with something

Its smells like major PR update. Last "dance" was 2-3 days before Panda update!
