Selecting the right keywords to optimize a site is a difficult job and it becomes even more difficult when it is about long tail keywords. Is it important to focus on the length of the long tail keywords?
Look at how competitive the key phrase is rather then the length (how many words it is) of it. For competitiveness look at how many other sites are already optimizing and targeting it and how many searches are done for it each month. Google just recently revamped their keyword tool to indicate the level of competitiveness for each keyword. http://www.seroundtable.com/google-keyword-tool-competition-14223.html
hi, Nop length is not important in long tail keywords but the user friendliness of the keyword is more important.
I am going to give you an advice, stacking keywords usually will make things worst since people on your niche usually following same blueprint, it takes time but it WORKS! I would find a free web tracker that gives you keywords and pages they are requested on, Analytics usually loses track when the page is not fully loaded so I would go classic or implement your own tracker for keywords. watch the keywords that brings you traffic even by accident and optimize those. this strategy works for people who are actually writing content, so beware that it wont work on copy/paste content. I might find it difficult to explain, but I hope you got my point, and to make it clear this is an example: I write about a lot of things, one day I wrote about an app in the iPad that tracks how much u spend on coffe, the keyword that attracted visitors by accident afterwords was for example was "coffe spendings" the second day I would write an article again about that app but I will focus on the coffe spending keyword. that was a stupid example I hope you got it, just don't go out of your niche and feel free to explore.
long tail keywords mostly use on your page and i help you to minimize your niche and short keywords mostly use when you do backlink from other side.
