Hello i have a blog which i want to use to post bollywood movies to.. is it legal or illegal and advice apreciated
I dont think its legal to post movies as all movies are off copyright - it will be treated as warez blog if you do it.
thanks for posting guys but is it pok if i copy some zshare and rapidshare links from different sites ?
If you post a link to illegal activity, such as illegally posted copy written material, you are equally guilty of promoting piracy. Especially if your site is hosted, and run from a country that adheres to international copy write laws.
Law has changed, even if you don't host the contents on your site, you still can be sued. It doesn't worth the risk, example:cinematube.net ordered to pay 1.3 million dollar. they only linked to other site videos, films.
You might want to look at the fair use policy and go from there. It is illegal to promoted pirated material.
For sure it is illegal. But you can see a lot of websites on net are doing this. But if the bollywood people are started taking legal actions against few of these people, then everything will come to an end.
Be careful. There are "fair use" rules that will allow you to post clips and "samples" but linking to full films will be frowned upon. It is worse if you are profiting from your site.
it isn't illegal as long as you are not storing the files on your server. if you just linked to them from your blog it is alright.
review type only blog with excerpt of the movie would be considered a fair use in my opinion. don't know the opinion of the movie producer though. see thats the problem with copyright issue, just because someone else is doing it and get away with it, doesn't mean you can too.
Hi welcome to "I don't know what the heck I'm taliking about" This is completely wrong. Even posting links is illegal now. Going offshore won't save you in civil court, screenshot / source code ftw. You can use small portions of the movie as a review site. But, that's fair use. Anything more than a small portion (which is left to the decision of the jury/judge what a small portion is, it's not outlined in law) is copyright infringement.
