Is it illegal to copy someone's article? Need Fast help!

    Although IANAL, this is simply not true. All works are inherently copyrighted as soon as they are produced (at least in the US). You can register your copyright, but it is unnecessary.

    And in reference to the poster who stated 'illegal' is not the word to use because it sounds like you are robbing a store, this is exactly what you are doing! You are stealing material from a business...

    It is not "illegal" though. If someone commits an act that is "illegal" they can be prosecuted. If your work isn't registered then you can not go after them legally. Therefore that "automatic copyright" is not "copyrighted" (as in the ability to go after them for copyright infringement). I hope you understood what I was trying to convey. It's almost 5am here...:eek:

    Take permission first from the blog owner and then post. You might want to check various free articles site, from where you can take articles for free. I like articlecity.com for this (this is not an advertisement - I don't own articlecity - I wish I could).
