As said before, why not just join a free cashback website so that you earn money directly from the cashback site instead of (probably) breaking the terms and conditions of CJ etc?

Can you give me some of the cashback websites?

I register/renew about 100 a year, so your talking about $700-$1000, so itd save me a lot.

I would still like to know a definite answer, i guess godaddy isn't going to get back to me

Theres a free cashback website you can join which gives you %10 cashback on all purchases made from Go Daddy.

    http://www.paid2review.co.uk/rpoints.html

You can sign up at the bottom of the page for free.

    Thanks :) Matt

I have also ordered things through my cj account and don't understand what the difference would be if I am a paying customer. I am curious though to see what their response is.

I do not know any affiliate program which would be happy with that. Imagine then all customers instead of buying from them in a "regular" way would open and affiliate account and buy through their own links.

I think it also depends on the Merchant.
And I agree with super, it would be so easy to save money just by signing with several affiliate programs and buy from your website...and save the comission.

But then again those of us joining affiliate programs really are a small community. Think about it, of all the people using the internet today how many are using it to actually try to make money and even know what affiliate marketing really is? I have a huge family and almost all are online yet none of them have a clue about what I do or how to earn an income online. Then of course there are many that don't believe you can earn an income from working at home and really have no interest in pursuing it.

To me being an affilate and getting a discount is pretty much the same as if I were to work for a major retail store and get the employee discount.
Then again I may be wrong and am hoping to find out more about this. I am thinking that perhaps it would have more to do with each retailer's policy than with cjs.

Whichever links your using, just make sure you read the terms and conditions for the program your purchasing from. If your not suppose to purchase for yourself using your own links, and they find out, they may close your cj account!

I've done this with amazon (years ago, I don't recall it being against the TOS at the time, I even had the affiliate link as the shortcut on my browser window) and Rapid Satellite(no loner around) had a sweet affiliate deal that made buying a dish a no brainer... (it was like $85 cash on top of the free system, and 3 months free programming).

I wouldn't specifically do it with CJ, but since I use my own site for research I don't ever think to remove the affiliate cookie when I purchase a domain name.

I just receive the responding email from CJ:

Thank you for your inquiry. As noted in the Publisher Service Agreement, this is ultimately up to the discretion of the advertiser.

PSA Section 1 (d.ii) states: “…you may or may not be compensated for Transactions where You or Your agent are the Visitor. Multiple Leads from the same individual, entity or IP address may be considered non-bona fide Transactions. You shall not earn Payouts for non-bona fide Transactions.”

I think this behaviors are dicided by advertiser you have promoted. And CJ don't intervene.

As I posted previously, I've made purchases through CJ links. At times I have done so purely for the purpose of registering a commission through CJ on a new site before CJ terminates the account for no commisions after 6 months.
