Is it healthy for your body to fast during the day and after sunset to laod up your stomach with food and water before going to bed? I have some muslim friends who fast during day and eat after sunset. And they eat loads of food since they have been hungry and thursty all day long. As far as I know, one shouldn't eat much before going to bed since he won't sleep well if he overloads his stomach. I know from personal experience if I eat too much before going to bed I can hardly get a good sleep. Some of my friends agree this kind of fasting and eating after sunset harms their body, but also they say it is a religios thing that they have to do in the name of God. God does not want you to hurt your body.... IMO, God does want you to eat in a healthy way. What happens to Ramadan type of fasting is one shocks his body by depriving it from water during the day, and then after sunset shock his body with great load of food and water. Some muslims may say they don't eat much after sunset, but the majority do eat a lot. May be this is just another Islamic rule they follow without really questioning its true value.
We don’t jump to bed right after eating. We start fasting at dawn and break it at the sunset. There is another 4 hours left after sunset before we go to bed. And between that we have to offer Salah twice, right after the dawn and around an hour before going to bed. I think this is enough exercise to digest our food. Thank for your concerns though.
I dont think its bad for you, a lot of people (including myself) can make it through the day without lunch healthily. I can't see any harm in pushing it a bit further.
I fast too... It's really easy and ofc GOD helps us do it. I have 5 hours more after I've eaten so its fine to sleep...
