Is it hard to create a directory that makes decent money?

    Yea but mikey you spend £$310 in one directory and $335 in another thats like nearly $700 you've spent!

    there's a good posting on wealthy blogging dudes online, and where it showcase some DP members who runs several 'killer' blogs ( high quality, high PR and have loyal visitors ) ... and for the fact, they also runs very very profitable directories with high PR too...\\

    i'm planning to start one also, following the footstep...adsense is not for me right now...

    it's the future of Internet Marketing lol..with a smart twist...

    the smart people think like other smart people

    when other people are buying links, they'll sell links ( without sales letter lol ;) )

    when people are rushing for PR, they'll sell PR...huhu... talk bout affiliate marketing ;)

    jesus. please listen and dont be daft. I havent lost money

    I saved up, sold some sites so had over $1500 to spend. I went and spent it. Because i invested so much, people realise that i will gain a good page rank, and traffic will be good(which can be seen by watching alexa).

    As people saw the traffic increase, and the backlinks increase, they knew i was committed. they came to my site and bought links.

    All business have to invest, or "loose" as you call it, money when they start. The big investment has allowed me to earn over $700 in revenue. By the ned of the year i will of broken even, meaning revenue will be higher than all my costs.

    Therefore that $3100 will be "found" again. Money is never lost unless you burn it. I didn't burn it, i spent it (reasonably) wisely.

    People see you are working hard, so even though the site has PR0, it still has traffic. traffic means they will get clicks to their site, so they will pay for the traffic and brand promotion if the site has PR0 or not....

    1. I understand you have invested money into your site
    2. I understand you have made $700 in revenue
    3. I understand you spent $3100 as an "investment"

    The original topic was "can a PR 0 make money?" well you haven't broken even yet so I would say that your website has not made any profit.

    Of course if you invest thousands of pounds you will see some return but does everyone have thousands of pounds to invest???

    You are putting too much trust into people if they see "you making the effort", I only invest in sites that will benefit my business.

    I'm not being daft or silly and I wish your website all the best success but don't give people the illusion that they can make money from a PR 0 unless you have proof (without a fat wallet).

    when i said make money, i meant revenue, not profit....

    AND i do not put the trust in the fact that people expect me to get a high PR or anything...

    they bid $5 for a link, get some traffic so bid more.

    they are paying for traffic and a backlink right now.
