Well automatic submissions will not work most of the time due to captcha. Semi automatic directory submission will be OK, like you can manage your site for different promotion which includes social bookmarking, article submissions and directory submissions. hope this helps.
Lastly I have many Russian websites submitted, all to one category, looks like someone using poor auto submission.
