Whether it is good to put no follow on this below url? http://www.jeffbrowninc.com/business_and_economy/?s=H (Sort by hits) As links are always sorted by page rank! As search engines would consider them as supplemental or duplicate pages
i know what u mean but those pages are treated as supplemental results in google..e.g: http://www.google.com/search?client..._/Paid_Directories/?s=H&p=1&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Yes that's it! I noticed it as I was indexing one of my directories I had only 749 categories but I had indexed about 3000 pages then only I found that these pages are also indexed!
I think removing them all together would be a better way to go, that what I am going to try and get done to my dirs.
You can block it with robots.txt file. So user can still enjoy the sorting feature, but it will prevent search engine from indexing it. Not sure about the correct format, perhaps something like this : User-agent: * Disallow: /?s=H You can use the "robots.txt analysis" from Google Webmaster Tools to test the result.
