Is it good to get Forum signature links after Penguin update 2.1 ?

    Hi DPers, I am new to SEO and as I am starting the SEO trends at changing at good pace. :)

    I recently started a casino affiliates site http://onlineblackjack888.com/

    This site was ranking on 6th page of Google initially then I added an article on this page. So the site appeared on the 2nd page of Google after 3 days. Later on, I added an anchored link to the above URL into my DP forums and the ranking slipped to 4th page of Google.

    Now, I came across this article below saying that anchored forums signature links can create a spam and Google may not like it. Therefore, I want to ask if the backlinks from these signatures means anything or are they useless now?

    In simple words No. But if your site has thousands of links then you can consider some forum signature links for link diversity. For new site A big NO.

    The answer is No. And yes, like the reply above, if you have A LOT of signature backlinks to the point where it might seem unusual to the Google then you could be penalized.
