Are you looking for starting domain name reseller business ? If so, .COM is good to start with. Are you looking for other options to invest ?
I want to hold it for some time...I may or may not sell it later. It'll depend on how it will perform later.
Good. Meanwhile, You can create a website/blog with that domain and submit to all search engines including alexa. So that your domain value will increase....
com is king and much more valuable than any others but it can be very hard to find available domain names. I personally like .co, but it hasn't caught on yet.
Sorry, but that question is so loaded. Of course .Com's are the way to go, but not every one of them is or will ever be a winner. I guess to answer your question plainly, .Com, .Net, .Org. But that doesn't mean there aren't investment grade domains on any of the other 100's of cctlds or new g's. Besides, are we talking about hand registering investment-grade domains (lol), or actually putting $XXX++ into one+. It takes investing $$ into domains to actually make an investment, at least nowadays.
Cloud is still a great option even though its been around for a little while, just sold 3 names for mid xx,xxx Spend some time looking on the aftermarket for nice names
Definitely .com domain is still the best. Just look for good domain names fast while they are still available in the market.
Some investors think LLL.us will be hot one day. I always thought .cc should be good too, simply because it is so easy to type. People like that. I think anything short and easy to type has some value, especially if it has a meaning that people get when they see it (like who.is or cloth.es). It's all speculation, so who knows? Stay away from .name, .mobi and IDN's. You can get lucky with those- I once sold two .name's for $100 each- but it's super rare. I've had my best luck with two-word .com's (with no dash).
I would only go for .com, although I'm not a domainer. If you are getting into the domain name business, then you should consider other extensions.
.com ending URL is great. THey are the most popular. If you are holding onto it, start trying to increase its value
Thank you all for your valuable suggestions. Is it still good to invest in .info domains? Do they have lost their values?
I just bought a .tips for one of new info products i'm building, not sure if it will pan out but I'll give it a try. I do hope the new TLD's work out there are some really good ones that I can put to work.
yes, .com is best. but also you can invest in .net or .org and some cctlds likes .de .us .in etc they also have good market. there is a article for you about a digitalpoint forum member. http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/features/smartbuy/how-to-make-millions-trading-domain-names/article6436013.ece
I believe the .COM is now definitely the best. I guess it will still be the best for the next 5 years, but i think something new will occur and things will change a bit...
.com is most valuable amongst the ext. for domains so if you want to make money from it then invest in .com domains to get good returns.
The most popular of all extension is still .COM and this is where you can really get a good investment.
