Can anyone give me some pros and cons of having two different domain names and redirecting one to the other? Also, might it be better to just have two different sites and change the content a little to target different keywords?
Only time I try and direct another site is when the old site used to have the same content and I just changed domain names. Other than that build two sites.
im going to let you in on a little secret. Always try to get over 50+ domains over a period of 1 year. Flip them all, because i remmeber buying a dmain name for $10 and selling it for $90,000 and I only paid $80 for it though my life time. So i suggest using another site if you want to build your seo. it wont make a big differnece or any becaise each site wont be ranked good yet. Use one domain for now and the more rankings you get the higher your site value becomes then you can eaither use it or flip it into SWEET cash!
It would be pointless, unless one of the domains had type-in traffic or some other traffic, and you would want to redirect the domain to your main site.
So is there anything wrong with building two different website under two different domain names targeting different keywords, but selling the same exact prodcuct? Can anyone explain
All I can see is that you would have to get both domains into a top ranking status. Depends on weather you want to try to build 2 domains or have a plan to apply as many keywords to one and focus on ranking with one domain first.
like Cheat, i buy the other domains and forward. if you want, you can mask the other domain so it doesnt look like it forwarded. it will keep the domain name in the browser but actually forward to the other website. =))
I figured if you changed the content around to match specific keywords in your domain within a market where the competitors had weak SEO, would bring you more quality targeted traffic. I would be selling the exact same products and just change the website around a little bit
I use to register similar names and redirect to the main, let's says forumthis and forumsthis to make sure people will go straight to the site no matter they are unsure if its a plural or singular name
