Is it fair to close the blog making just $2 monthly?

i just cannot believe that with my blog is just making $2 monthly. it is about 2yrs old.

is it worth blogging anymore? The only reason why i am running the blog is just to write what i like.

Would you shutdown the blog if you make small money with it.

Probably you don't monetise it well or not right.

yeah! i seem to get about 5k+ uniques. I just use adsense.

 

Put ads on your main page.. look into different advertising programs.. im sure you can make more then 2 bucks a month with your blog.. just take some time to monetize it. I get more then 2 bucks a month parking my domains so you should definitely be able to more more.

 

Yea, and only 1 block, and only in posts, and post not so often, and maybe not well integrated. Lot of variables to play with, but if it a small blog about what you like I would write , you can consider other ways of making money, blogging is one of the toughest

 

Valid pr 2 and have more than 3k backlinks ( although most of the backlinks is from your DP signature ). My suggestions.

1. Build more natural backlinks from related sites/blogs
2. Put more effort to monetize it

monetise it properly and you will be on a roll.also what amazed me was that there are no comments in most of the posts that forces me to think that the traffic is unrelated,is it so?

 

if you are thinking of quitting it, don't just close it, sell it

with 5k uniques you should be able to sell it for more money than it is earning you that is for sure

 

i would switch to something else or shut it down

 

In the end, the decision really lies with you. Did you blog because you like to blog/write or did you blog because it is all about the money ?

If it is because you like to write and you can sustain the cost of hosting the site then just leave it on.

Personally, I think that when you host a website, it should be about the passion and the love to do it rather than the money or else it would simply kill the motivation and makes it very mechanical.

 

Topics look interesting-- however I am a software consultant and would think that. Out of curiousity-- how are you making the $2.00 per month? Did I miss an ad? [Found the ad when I clicked on a single post-- this maybe part of the problem].

I blog because it gives me an outlet. I would miss it if I stopped.

If you have spare time and doesn't mind of the money, why not go on. If not, quit it.

I dun believe u making $2/mth now... at least should have $50 cos u have PR2 which is quite useful for PPP.

You need to put ads on the homepage and you'll see your profits boost.

Agreed! Also, try using the square ad units and have the text wrap around them. Your CTR will increase dramatically.

 

give your blogg a revamp and you should see good results !!
