Today when I go to User CP to check my subscribed thread, I see this in my reputation panel

Managing multiple sites... Mar 27th 2007 8:51 pm Useless begging for reputation, probably due to using crap Firefox

I received negative reputation from someone, without any cause. The thread is http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2642109#post2642109

Was it fair?, I have joined this forum properly from February and since then I am trying my best to help noobs in programming forums. You can check my post, I am sure you won't find anything offending there.

Did I deserved that negative rep?

Some people don't like people asking for rep.

Its the chance you take (That you may get red when you ask for rep in your sig)

Im just giving you the reason since you asked. The best way to get a lot of rep for helping people is to just help them (and then the rep comes naturally).

You are of course free to leave that in your sig...I just no from past instances that you can expect just a few of the 65,000 members here to drop you a red.

Fair or not, anyone can give red reps to any member. I suggest you remove "If you find any post of mine useful, please add to my reputation" in your signature. It attracts more red than greens.
