Is It Fair For Forum Sites To Employ "NoFollow" In Signatures?

I understand that a forum site will never grow as huge as DP if it is all developed by one person. A forum is a community of efforts. It's a shared work, a shared labor of love mostly by webmasters.

But what do you think of forum sites who implement "nofollow" attributes? Is it fair to members who help the forum grow?

I think it is fair so long as they do not try to hide the fact that they do it. Altjhough I think they will grow faster by being generous. It is a basic law of Karma, Abundance and the Golden Rule.

 

I can't understand why they should do that cause they don't lose anything.
