Google is the most powerful Search Engine on the internet. Beating Google is not an easy task...

If you think about it, how many Google ads have you seen in the past or seen currently running. The answer is none because Google has grown so big, even from the start, to allow many people to use word of mouth and thus Google gained popularity quickly. Nothing can compete in my mind, even with as much advertising Bing is doing right now.

We just cant predict anything. I doubt google will go down any time soon, but certainly bing has the muscle power an dthe technical know how to compete with Google. the rising market share of Bing (in the US) is a strong notification of this trend

I think people will use Google for a while and it will be on top for a while, but not forever.

It is big discussion now obviously. To me it seems that Google have loads of things unreleased yet, whenever we hear about some big push by an SE they release or improve something. So i feel soon they will release something major that will just wipe the floor with bings new changes.

I also think that what i love most about google is something they didnt even plan. Their cleaness. Google.com it searches, thats it, doesnt bombard you with news, mail video etc, unless you want it. They give you the choice of igoogle, but yahoo is like constant content, if i want that stuff, ill chose to view it. Not them choose for me. I like google for this. Thats why i feel "homesick" when being on yahoo.

It is possible for other search engine to take over the number one seat from Google, but it will take a long time to materialised. It is a welcome development for Bing and Yahoo to come together and race for the number one spot of search engine, Google have been enjoy the monopoly in the market for a long time.

Bing and Yahoo is going to be a good competitor for Google, which is good for us webmaster and the search market as well. We are to see alot of improvement from both parties.

I think Bing will start to eat away at Google but it won't take over as the top search engine anytime soon.

I remember when Google was the new kid in town...I was saying what is this ugly white, boring search engine? But it was the simplicity that won out...

Google has a way of releasing new products that are simple and elegant and they keep fans of the search engine coming back.

Bing has some nice graphics and a nice presentation...but I think a lot of people are just using toolbars nowadays and won't even see the fancy images.

Basically in order to put Google down, you'll have to create a search engine that creates addiction. Search addiction.

Lol, I doubt it, Google has been in the business for a long time and most people are already far too comfortable with it...

It's possible but as previously stated, it sure wouldn't happen overnight. Google afterall, is the SE king for a reason ;)

While it is unlikely that Bing is going to replace Google any time soon, it is always good to have an alternative (based on free market principles) that will spur room for innovation and some competition injected into the mix wont be bad after all.

I would say that every thing is possible mate, what all needed is courage and right approach.
Just check this stats and you will find that even google is loosing its market share, although the lost is insignificant but yes , bing has started making hole in GOOGLE.
