hi, i'm planning to get started with AdSense, and the posts here were truly a revelation. Information is ....jus' great!! The problem is - my site doesn't yet rank in Google. However, in Yahoo, I could get top 20-30 position for some keyphrases. Will google check my rankings first before they approve me for AdSense? Is there any way I can find out about this? Please help.......... seotek
They will not check your rankings but will check your site to ensure it complies with their TOS. I've heard an easy and quick way to get approved for Adsense is to set up a blog at blogger.com, make a few posts then apply.
Getting approval from google through blogspot is the fastest. - setup a blog at blogspot - post something on oil price/ finance statistic (u can find easily) (two post will do). You can even post about your personal life. - apply for adsense through blogspot Approval in less than a day. The fastest was an hour.
Shoe - I would love a more elaborate system based on your experience with Adsense. And I would also be the first to purchase your advice
no need to purchase just read a lot of digitalpoint... se ranks come and go but word of mouth, branding and typein traffic will lead to victory. One of my sites for the last couple months has been #2 consistantly for a MONSTER keyword term and was #1 for several 6 figure overture terms. It just got blasted in serps, doesnt even rank for its own name now but because of branding and subscription and stuff like that my contextual advertising has maintained its level.
if your site ranks at the top of Google searches then you'll be receiving a real traffic that can be converted into Adsense earning. If you receive thousands of traffic expect to earn $ from it.
Doesn't smart pricing take a sites search results into account? (I haven't researched this, I just assumed it was the case).
I've been on a tear recently building what I call "Fast content" sites that are relevant, informative and do NOT utilize scraping (well..i've implemented yahoo rss feeds on one page) and what I've noticed is that MSN is having a field day indexing and picking them up. So a majority of my revenue has started in MSN and then carried over into other search engines once the sites mature a little.
Jee, interesting. How many sites are you talking about and how many pages of content do you build until you release them?
I do the same thing Jeeplaw does. I usually put up four or so articles to launch then add more over time 'til I have about 12 or so. Then I add more sporatically either when I want a boost or if I happen to think of a good article subject that fits the niche. MSN Gobbles that stuff up. G and Y, not so much, but there's money to be made there, yeah.
Um you need good search engine ranking or good links. Quality Links can be very expensive and it may take awhile before they get properly assesed by Google. (lol competors aren't going to just give you traffic for free are they ) And Good rankings are hard to get for commonly searched words. You need a reader base mroe than anything. That way you dont have to spend so much time trying to make traffic.
A good search engine ranking is useful, but by no means is it absolutely essential. Word of mouth is one of the best promotion methods out there. If you provide a good service, good content and put your visitors first, they are bound to spread the word about your site. With a bit of luck you won't even need to have a good ranking, but it always helps!
On this same topic, has anyone had Google terminate their account strictly on the grounds that their site isn't getting enough traffic? It's in their TOA. I'm sort of sweating about this. Jesse
