    Hey everyone,

Im starting to learn web design myself, using free online resources. I am also considering university but my main question is from your experience is it 100% necessary to have a degree in order to get work? or is it just based on your experience/knowledge??

    thanks in advance,

I think if you have the desire for it and learn how to improve what you have already; you can have a job with a decent web design portfolio.

Agreed. A convincing portfolio with clean, error-free code and fast loading pages will go a long way to getting work. You might want to pick a niche also - like business, artists, real-estate, attorneys, etc.

Agree with the others. Only recently did I find some (questionable) schools even offer such a degree.

Agree with the others, but if you have a degree in web design, I think it will help you enough.
