I've never tried Sushi in my life. I'd love to try it someday although I'm a bit skeptical about eating raw meat.
It doesn't have to be raw, by the way. You can always ask for smoked salmon instead. Tastes even better.
I don't know much about fish. I've eaten it very rarely. Will try what you suggest, as soon as I find a restaurant that serves Sushi in my city.
Sushi is good, though I think of it more as an appetizer/side dish. I also will eat raw beef (i.e., Steak Tartare) as an appetizer. I guess that I look at raw fish/meat not as the main course of a meal. Probably a character flaw.
I tried sushi once, just took a bite and had a hard time swallowing it. I don't know if it's my palate or brain that's not liking the sushi. Also, the combination of steamed rice, vinegar, soy sauce and wasabi is not working for me.
Are you kidding? Sushi must be one of the most revolting foods ever invented. If the deal is the raw fish, why not try sashimi, which gives you the raw fish but dispenses with the utterly horrible cold rice.
