Until PR updates everyone seems in stand off. Theres not too much activity either at Link Sales. Theres some good deal here and there but basically everyone is holding off. As soon as it hits the update that thread would be overcrowded for the first 2 weeks I guess. Any new thread you make would be pushed to the bottom in minutes. :D

I'd say it's pretty difficult for any site to get a PR8 or higher...

I think yes it's difficult for directories. If you notice some blogs are PR7 and they have few backlinks only where as directories has too many backlinks and still PR5/6 such as elegantdirectory.com, e-topic.com, romow.com etc..

I can vouch that for ya:D

Besides --Jude is also correct --the link market is dull now --but once the update is over --WELL --I'll avoid it for the first 2 weeks:D

You don't need alot of money to get a high PR.

In life you have time or money. If you have lots of time and make a great resource backlinks come naturally. If you want to speed things up and have money you can buy it. I' d say MOST high ranking PR sites didn't pay for links. (Directories excluded of course!!!) Like we're all into PR now but what about Joe Smith who has been building a niche resource since 2000. There are TONES of sitse like that that have incredibly high ranking PR. Time or Money; a combo of both works great ;)

With a big budget, you can do it.

    I am sure about that.

Hi ---Sorry for being little bit harsh --but can't help it.

Are you one of those self-proclaimed --frustrated SEO experts who believe PR is nothing for SERPs?

What do you mean --by getting natural links? I know one site that is more than 3 years old -selling sofa be mattress--with 3 K natural backlinks --but they are all useless -in terms of PR. So his site is still only PR3.

So you think in 5 years time --reputed ( PR8+) sites will give me automatic links? How ridiculous!

My friend --nobody will give you free links --if you are not extremely important for their sites/categories --- and nobody will give you a free link with your directory --because you are earning $$$ with it.

Ofcourse if you know how to get those free links tell me -- I can devote 14 hrs/day 365 days. My regular job takes away only 1 and half hors of my time --so I have plenty of time at hand.

Very true, it´s hard to get a high PR just by buying links. You need to be very persistent and spend a good amount of cash, which creating good link bait can do it for you without too much additional advertising work.
