Lol--Jude In my earlier post I said --its those frustrated self-designed SEO experts who say like that. I have an experience --one of my friend hired a SEO company for SEOing--and after few days I saw some backlinks from big directories like uncoverthenet coming up for his website. When I asked if he listed them --he says he had no idea -- all the best SEO job and experts --shame on them who downplay the importance of PR
Do you think only Alive? -- As per as my research on the industry goes --there are 5 other directories right with Alive and one is threatening to overtake it --So if ever it happens someday--we will rejoice and have a party from Chris --but then some others will also have to treat us nicely as if Alive gets PR8 --there are 2 other contenders too.
My 2 cents << It is possible ... if you buy links wisely and have a extremely big budget. It is dangerous because that point is not sustainable unless you are continuously going to advertise and promote that heavily.
Ummm just buy a solid PR9 link. I think there is some truth to getting flagged at PR8, site-sift was there and got whacked as I recall.
If there is truth in there. Come this update DP members that will be whacked for that as I know. Popotalk Semper Fi Velocity and frequent Members of This Thread
Thanks for the link to that article, this part is so true: "Lesson #2 - Promote Like A Madman If you promote like crazy, the word will get out. It’s a snowball effect. The promotion we did was so aggressive that the promotion itself created buzz (and linkage). And by promoting, you’re proving to your customers that you’re serious about giving them value for their money." I see so many folks thinking they will buy an expired PRX domain and put up a free script, a free template and the money will start rolling in.
If the expired domain name has already type in or quality link traffic, it can happen. But of course, 99.999 percent of DP members settle for some garbage domain.
"If the expired domain name has already type in or quality link traffic". - On the off chance that it does then it probably won't be directory related anyways so it would be useless.
Thats top-secret now -- I don't think the owners of those directories would like the idea of me giving out the names. @ Blogmaster --Yes Alive is still at TOP --no worries about that. It is after that --the positions will change drammatically after this update.
I definetly think its due to people just not wanting to link to directories. Thats the last type of site I would ever think of linking to.
It doesn't matter whether it is a directory or not. PR cannot me limited for one kind of site. I mean there should not be any pr upper limit for directories...
One difficult part could be the finance and how much you can invest. In many cases, huge investment helps to gain a high PR. I think PR8 could be easy if I could spend a million dollars Here is my old thread about PR8 + sites.
