is it courtesy? or it doesn't matter?

in a social setting, when your phone rings, you answer the phone. Do you walk to somewhere else to talk, or do you answer it in front of the person/people you were talking to? i personally walk to another corner, more because of privacy.

Well I think it is more polite to move away from the person or people that you are with :)

well i didn't mean answering in the middle of a conversation, but more like answering it when you aren't in a conversation. suppose there were 3 people and two of them were talking while you listen.

or in the case where there's just two of you and both of you were watching a, say, art exhibit. (random example)

Saying "Excuse me" and answering the phone call is polite enough for me.

Yeah I would definately walk away. Mobile phones make people rude lol.

I remember when I was working in a cafe at the airport, people would walk up while they were on their phone and try to order things while talking. It made me so angry that I would refuse to serve them until they got off the phone :p
