GMail is OK. Maybe a little better than OK. But, unless they open up IMAP access to accounts, I might consider switching back to the mail that comes with my hosted domain

Be like so many naive people and go to ebay or stormpay auctions.
Always someone selling invites to gmail!
    And people purchase them!!!

I got a gmail account, just there, have never used it.
But every time I go to check it out, I have like 500-1000 excellent spam messages waiting for me!
Maybe google sells your gmail accounts to spammers?
    COuld be!!!

IMHO, Gmail is okay. The Spam filter does a clever job and the features are superior than most free emails service out there. More importantly there's no intusive ads to stare at me blatantly while I am reading my mail.

Yes, I got errors once in a while too - but I do not mind the errors - they are in beta. Anything that is in beta must not be expected to work all the time.

    Gmail still in beta?
    Did not know that.
Would think that after 18 months or so, they would be out of beta.
Or are they being like the redmond devil keeping things in beta for years?

sending e-mail through outlook via gmails smtp sometimes runs into errors also. At least once or twice a week for a couple hours it wont work.
